Boe's Guide Service

Wow, where do I start?  I was that typical kid who loved to fish, hunt, rodeo, and be outdoors.  Our family did everything together.  We made alot of great and lasting memories.

The memory that changed my life the most was a bad car wreck in September of 1991.  That changed my life forever.  I didn't know it at the time but the Lord had plans for each and everyone one of us.  I did know that there was one and only one God.  I also knew that John 3:16 changes lives.  John 3:16 "for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

That eventually led my wife, Jacqueline and my self to a crossroads in our lives.  I had  been fishing with a guide on Texoma for a few years.  That couple asked if my wife and myself ever thought about moving to Texoma and working as a full time fishing guide.  We looked at each other and just laughed.  There was no way that we could move away from all of our family and the best paying jobs that we have every had.  Oh; and did I mention that this move was over 430 miles away.  It meant a move where we had no home, no family, and no guaranteed income.

At this point both Jacqueline and I sought God's answer and we began to pray.  The Lord started opening doors that no man could open and closing doors that nobody could shut.  Then a verse became very important; Jeremiah 29:11  "for I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Next came the decision to move to Lake Texoma.  With one wife and three children we set off to North Central Texas.  This trip became our first challenge; we meet with several trials along the way starting with a blown truck engine that was pulling the boat.  Most would have turned tail and headed back to the life of comfort; but we choose to trust in the Lord.  We learned early on that God is always in control of everything.

Today we are happy to say we have totally turned our lives over to God; our business, our finances and all the activities of daily living.  Even in mistakes we realize that God helps us get corrected and back on track.

One of my favorite verses is Mark 1:17  "come follow me, Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."  God's instruction for us is to love one another and that's the foundation for my love of being a fishing guide.  I get to fellowship with new found friends, loved ones and my family.  sharing God's light while catching fish is just a bonus.  The part I love the most is watching young and old reel in that first fish of the day.  Their faces light up, their hearts open up and one great day unfolds.

I always remind myself that Jesus told several fish stories; but the big difference is all his stories were true.

Remember; Keep the Faith and know that the Lord our God loves everyone.

Thanks
